From my readings lately I have noticed how Paul, one of my favorite men in the bible, is
such a team builder. Once that thought of a team of Christians popped into my mind, I
couldn't stop thinking about it. I realized that God did not tell us that we have to live our
Christian life on our own, even Jesus had 12 disciples that built him up and traveled with him.
As I read more about the relationships God has given us, I began to think about the team
that I am a part of. The first thing that comes to mind is my church. Yes, Mclean Bible
Church is a mega-church where I sometimes feel like a tiny ant, but it is still a team of believers
who are living for the same purpose, to glorify God through all things, live for him only, and
be witnesses to others, showing Christ through our lives. Another team that I am apart of is
what my family has always called "Team B" (aka Team Blankenship). Ever since I was little,
my parents have reminded my brother and I that our family is a team, who should build each
other up, help each other out, and aim for unconditional love that Christs models for us. These
are just two teams that I am apart of but I can think of many more. Okay, enough with my
rambling :) Here are some notes I have taken about what Paul has been showing me about the
characteristics of a great team.

The dynamics of a great team can be broken down into 4 main points: Targets, Trust,
Team Goals, and Value.
Team Goals, and Value.
Clearly defined TARGET
High level of internal TRUST- Paul’s target is seen in Acts 16:10
“After Paul had seen the vision; we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them."
- Confidence in team members
- Gal. 4:16 – importance of honesty
- You cannot build a foundation on lies or half truths
- No preoccupation with yourself
- Body of Christ – 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 27
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
- Inspire one another/build each other up
There are so many team members who are watching the game and not on the field.
SACRIFICE is key.
