DIY Whiteboards for your kids or your classroom!

As I jump into student teaching in the next few weeks I thought I would get a jump start on some helpful classroom tools while I was stuck in bed after surgery. This is one of those fun ideas that was super easy and affordable, plus you can use them over and over again!!!

I went to Lowes looking for a big chalkboard but I found whiteboard (near the lumber section) which is way better! So I paid $10 for a huge white board and asked them to cut as many 8"x10" boards as they could. Most hardware stores cut wood and these types of things for free, plus come on... its for a good cause.

Whiteboards are great because they are reusable and are great for any age group. Below are some fun ways to decorate your whiteboard if you are feeling super crafty or want to customize it to your child or students.

1. Hot glue ribbon or ric-rac on the sides of the whiteboard (see picture below)
2. Hot glue some buttons in the corners or any felt design
3. Add letter stickers to spell the student/child's name

How fun and easy! I hope to continue posting cute and creative ways to make your life a little easier whether you are a teacher, nanny, or mom :) Let me know if you have any ideas!!
