D.I.Y. Chevron Cork-board

Get ready... Here come a ton of D.I.Y. projects.

I have been in a super crafty mood recently, mainly for my dorm decor but these things are great for any room.

Here is an easy way to redo an old cork-board. I purchased mine at my local thrift store for $2.00 but you can buy one at any local craft store (such as Michaels).

Materials:
Cork-board
3 Paint Colors
Tape

Start by painting the background of the cork-board. It should be a lighter color than you want the stripes to be.

Take tape of any size and start creating a zig-zag pattern.

I would recommend drawing a grid to keep the lines uniform but unfortunately I didn't think about that until after I finished taping.

Paint a layer  or two of a darker/brighter color over top of the paint.

Once it is dry, take off the tape.

Next, ape around the edges of the cork before you paint the frame.

Tada!

Yes its a little off, but it gives it a kind of whimsical feel :) I actually don't mind it!
Let me know what you think!
