I have been one bad blogger...
Lets just say school and life have been crazy and leave it at that.
But I am coming back with stories of my adventures in France last week :)
Tuesday - Wednesday: Flights from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia to Paris then a train
from Paris to Nantes, France.
Thursday: I spent the day reading and sketching at a park in Nantes. It was quiet, beautiful, a little chilly but absolutely exactly what I needed. I laid out my blanket and sat there for hours as local french people walked past and said "Votre dessin est superbe" even though I do not speak a word of french I would just respond with a smile and a nod.
Downtown Nantes
View from The Birds Nest in Nantes, France.
Cathedral in Nantes.
Friday: I was given a beautiful, but wet, tour of Nantes, France. It was a bit rainy but that did not stop us from running all over the city to see the Cathedral, walk the cobblestone streets, go to the Island of the Machines, the Birds Nest, the Castle of Nantes, and a Crêperie.
The best espresso I have ever had.
Obviously I have to comment on the style I saw in Nantes...
People in Europe tend to automatically dress to impress and are very up on the trends. By the time the trend gets to the US - its over in Europe, except a few things: scarves, boots, trench coats, knits... always in for fall and winter.
In my tiny carry on, I had to be very decisive about what I brought with me.
Somehow I managed to pack 2 pairs of tights, 2 skirts, 4 shirts, 1 pair of jeans, 1 jacket, 2 scarves, 1 belt, 1 pair of combat boots, 1 pair of flats, 2 pairs of legwarmers, and statement jewelry.
My next post will be on my adventures in Paris, so be on the look out for that :)
