Sock Bun
This is one hair style that I automatically go to on a bad hair day.
It is easy, quick and very elegant.
If you don't learn how to do this you are missing out. It seriously goes with any outfit and can be pulled off messy or more put together.
Materials:
Dress Sock
Scissors
Bobby Pins
Take a dress sock (I personally got mine in the sock bin that didn't have matches) and cut the toe off. The sock cannot be an ankle sock or it will be too small.
Next, start rolling the sock until it looks like the picture below.
Doesn't it look like a donut!
Put your hair in a pony tail wherever you want your bun.
Place the sock around it at the base.
Pull the sock up until it reached a few inches from the ends of your hair.
Start to tuck the ends under neath the sock.
Try to disperse the hair around the entire sock so that you can't see it.
Keep tucking your hair underneath the sock and your hair should naturally spread as you go.
When you get to the crown of your head, secure it with bobby pins.
For special occasions or to just to accessorize an outfit, you can add a bow, flower, or headband (See picture below).
SO funny that you posted this.... my grandmother just gave me her "hair bun maker" and its basically the same thing! Isn't it great.. so easy
