D.I.Y. Monogram Accessories

If you are a Pinterest  fan, like I am, you have most likely seen the numerous ideas to incorporate monograms in your home! I'm not your average Pinterest fan though because I actually do the crafts I pin, not just look at them and wish they were mine :)

An individual or couple's monogram can personalize and add character to any room in your house (or in my case - in your dorm). Sure, you could buy a decal but why not just use what you have already and paint it!

Here are a few ways I have seen monograms incorporated into people's homes:

Fancy Vinyl Monogram applied to Mirror! LOVE!
On a fun mirror (may not be functional but it sure looks adorable!)

monogrammed wall decor
In a glass frame (perfect for an entry way, bedroom or office)

This monogram was painted, mounted on a painted canvas and framed with a decorative board.

This specific DIY is to show you how to take a boring piece of wood and adding some paint and your monogram. This is such an easy and cheap way to spice up a desk, your book shelf, a blank wall, or to give as a gift.

Materials:
Printer
Ball point pen
Wood (Any size or shape)
Paint (Any color)
Paint brush (Small)

1. Print your monogram by going to this website and following the directions - super easy and free: Customized Printable Monogram

Or you can just make your own on Microsoft Word!

2. Follow the directions in the thewbeehive - Love - Wood Redo that you can see below! Apply those same steps to the monogram that you decided to print out.

*Make sure the monogram you printed will fit on your piece of wood!

Here is my finished monogram! I decided to stick with black and cream but there are so many fun color combinations that could match any room decor.

It now has a new home on my desk :)

Have a wonderful week!

James 1: 2-4
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
