Flexible curling rods are a great way to cheat when you don't feel like taking a half hour to curl your hair with a curling iron. Not only does it take 5 minutes, it doesn't hurt your hair, and you can go about your life while your hair is being curled... how convenient!
Here is what you will need:
Partially damp hair (I blow dried mine for the sake of time)
Flexible curling rods - can be purchased at drug stores
Hairspray if needed
*These come in many different sizes, but I use the orange.
1. Start with partially damp hair so that your hair will hold the curl better.
Separate your hair into sections (enough for the # of rods you have).
I took 2-3 inch sections all over my head because I had 6 rods.
2. Starting at the top of your hair, near the root, twist your hair around the rod till you reach the
end of your hair.
3. Bend the ends of the rod around the curl. Make sure it is tight so that the hair does not slip out.
When you are done, it will look like this.
(Usually the process takes me about 5 minutes max)
Now go do something productive while your hair curls itself!
30 minutes later... this is what my hair looks like!
You may want to leave it in longer if your hair is not naturally curly or you can blow dry it while it is still curled around the rods. You can also apply hairspray if you want to make sure it doesn't fall out.
If you search YouTube, you can find tons of tutorials on how to do no heat hair styles but this one is by far my favorite. I have even seen people do similar tricks using socks!
Be sure to send me a picture if you try it!

This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky your hair sets like that, I've tried a lot but I don't think my hair will ever dry to beautiful waves like that! They look AMAZING on you!
